Dar Gnawa

Dar is the Arabian word for house. Dar Gnawa / Gnawa House

Abdellah "Boulkhair" El Gourd is a Master healer Gnawa musician born in 1947 in the Kasbah of Tangier, Morocco. He  transformed his traditional medina in Tangiers into a museum of sorts, an institute for the instruction, practice and promotion of Gnawa culture.

Dar Gnawa

A group of black healer musicians of Morocco who are well-known for their purification ceremonies, their abilities to treat psychic disorders and other maladies, just by using sheer, magnificent spiritual power of the Gnawa music and rhythms.

Dar Gnawa, perform on many official and national celebrations as on international festivals,  representing the Gnawa Culture worldwide.

Dar Gnawa collaborate with many different musicians, as there are:
Randy Weston African Rhythms,  Archie Shepp, Les Barbarins Fourchus,  Akosh,...

Dar Gnawa participated in the "Spirit of Africa" tour with
          Randy Weston African Rhythms
          Johnny "Clyde" Copeland  Blues band
          Gnawa musicians from Marrakech and Tangiers, Morocco.
